Accommodations Process

Students with disabilities who feel they would benefit from accommodations connect with Student Accessibility Services (SAS).  SAS may be able to assist you in receiving Academic and Campus Experience accommodations as well as University Housing & Dining accommodations.  SAS utilizes the software management system, Accommodate, to house applications, documentation, and accommodation letters.  Please follow the steps below to apply for accommodations related to Academic and Campus Experience as well as University Housing & Dining.

Accommodations Process

Students begin the accommodations process by submitting an Accessibility Accommodation Request and uploading documentation through the SAS website.

Log into Accommodate utilizing your UNI CatID to complete the request and upload documentation.

  • For detailed instructions on how to submit the Accessibility Accommodation Request, please refer to the following link.
  • For guidance on the documentation required, review our Documentation Guidance.
  • If it is difficult for you to obtain medical documentation, please know that this should not be a cause to delay reaching out to our office.  Contact us and we will work with you.

Students attend their initial meeting with SAS staff to discuss their disability, related documentation, and the accommodation(s) that would best address those barriers.

In follow up to the initial appointment students will receive a letter via email that outlines their accommodations or further guidance from SAS.

  • If you are approved for Academic and Campus Experience accommodations, both you and your faculty will receive the email with your approved accommodations.
  • If you are approved for University Housing & Dining accommodations, both you and the Assistant Director of Administrative Services for University Housing & Dining will receive the email with your approved accommodations.
  • If you are not approved for accommodations at this time, you will receive further guidance from SAS.
