Welcome to Accommodate!

Student Interface

Student Accessibility Services (SAS) utilizes Accommodate, an online system which enables students to submit accessibility requests, view and electronically sign their approved accommodations, schedule meetings with SAS staff members, and request changes to their access plans. SAS has created individual instructional guides on how to access each aspect of Accommodate.

Registering with SAS

To begin the process of connecting with SAS, students should complete the Accessibility Accommodation Request within Accommodate. Follow the steps below to submit to a request for academic, housing, and/or dining accommodations:

Step 1. Access the Student Interface of Accommodate and log in by utilizing one's UNI CatID.

Step 2. Open the Accessibility Accommodation Request.
Select  "Accessibility Request" under the Accommodation tab or "Request Accommodation" in the Shortcuts section of the Home Page to open the Accessibility Accommodation Request.

Step 3. Complete the Accessibility Accommodation Request.

Accessing Course Accessibility Letters

Students can view their access plans within Accommodate. Follow the steps below to view one's approved accommodations and electronically sign each Course Accessibility Letter:

Step 1. Open Accommodations Letters within Accommodate.
Select "Accommodation Letters" under the Accommodations tab.

Step 2. Open a Course Accessibility Letter from the list.
Select the paper and magnifying glass symbol under the "Actions" section to view a given letter.

Step 3. View and Sign the Course Accessibility Letter.
Review the contents of the letter. Type one's first and last name into the text box labeled "Signature" at the bottom of the page and select "Save."

Step 4. Meet with your instructors to discuss your Course Accessibility Letter. Any questions or concerns should be immediately directed to SAS staff

Requesting an Appointment

Students can request meetings with SAS staff members to request changes to their access plans, discuss any accommodation concerns, and receive assistive technology support. Follow the steps below to request an appointment:

Step 1. Open a new appointment request within Accommodate.
Select the "Appointment" tab and "Request New Appointment" at the bottom of the page.

Step 2. Determine the type, date, and time of the requested appointment.
Select a type of appointment from the drop-down menu along with a date and time range and the location. Available appointments will be listed as "Open Slot."

Step 3. Request a specific appointment from the available list.
Select the "Open Slot" next to the time under the given date of the appointment. A window will open to confirm the selected appointment information. Select "Submit Request."
